Gaza, ALRAY - "Israeli authorities have been preventing the entry of construction materials for international institutions and the private sector for the second day in a row," MP Jamal al-Khodari said.
Khodari, Head of the Popular Committee Against the Siege, stressed Monday in a press statement that "vital projects were under construction before being suspended due Israel's closure,"
He pointed out that the suspension of work on these projects means the layoff of thousands of workers for international institutions, the private sector, concrete plants, and other factories dependent on construction materials.
The MP called for international pressure to be mounted on the Israeli occupation in order to lift the blockade imposed on Gaza since seven years.
He added that it's Israel's obligation to open all commercial crossings to the entry of all building items and raw materials and allow Gaza exports.
