Ramallah, ALRAY - Enass Shawkat Khalil, five-year-old, from Single town northern Ramallah was killed and another girl was critically injured in hit-and-run accident by an Israeli settler.
Both girls were taken to the hospital, where medical sources announced Enas's death, and the other child is still in the intensive care room.
Eyewitnesses reported that the settler was driving on the street where he intentionally ran over the two girls while they were crossing the street in their way home from the kindergarten.
Medical sources said that the two children were struck in the head, one of them passed away while doctors were trying to save her.
The witnesses added that the mothers of the two children fainted in front of the hospital gate when hearing the news.
The Israeli settler turn himself to the police and claimed that he ran away out of fear that the Palestinian crowed would hurt him. The Israeli police said that the incident was just an accident, Ynet revealed.
It is noteworthy that this is not the first time to witness such an incident in the Palestinian territories, the past months witnessed running over a number of Palestinian children by Israeli settlers’ cars in several Palestinian districts.
